In this version you can see a nice guy under that scull make up. I did this with design marker.

The Iron Mark is a costumed crime fighter from the fictional city in the West Town. The Iron Mark’s alter ego is Jack Cutter, a lonely young man that didn’t fit in. He would often take long walks by himself down by the train tracks. One day he discovered the hide out to an old German spy and saboteur called the Iron mark. Jack finds the entrance by accident and survives several death traps by sheer luck. Young Jack discovers a night-time world of secrecy, anonymity, excitement, and power. He is seduced by this dangerous world. And start using the old evil Iron Mark’s gear to fight crime and the supernatural. In a way he creates this world. Like so many other super heroes, those who come into his life either become part of his strange world or they are destroyed by it.

I had caught the comic book bug in my early teens. I was hungry for everything about comics, about their creators and history. My father found me a history book showcasing some comic book cover art from the 40's. I was fascinated by these old illustrations giving me a glimpse of a history that never existed. Exciting images of terror, war propaganda, and mythology. Mysterious masked men saving damsels in distress from evil cultists. Heroic freedom fighters battling grotesque monsters in the shape of German and Japanese soldiers. With my head filled with all these images and ideas I came up with the Iron Mark. He was inspired by those old forgotten mystery men of the 30's and 40's. I would to draw the Iron Mark on note books, assignments, and homework. He wore a black double breasted suite, overcoat, and fedora. His face is pained like a skull. Usually he carries sticks of dynamite or a German pistol. He is named for his calling card, the iron spikes he throws at his opponents.
