Windswept Beauty by staino Windswept Beauty by staino
This image has gone through some changes during the design process. Early on she was an elf with short light colored hair. The head was tilted and the face completely different. Her consume had no contrasting elements and the leather was studded. I was not pleased so I gave her a new face with regal windswept hair. The unusual rock shapes were probably formed at the seaside and I imagine her standing at the edge of a beach facing off against assassins. From the look of her I would say she is a mix of ranger and rogue. I have some story ideas for her but they are not fleshed out enough to share them with you in great detail. I can say it is discovered that she is the right full heir to the throne and the current king is looking to get rid of her because of the threat she poses to his power. Sometimes I will have a story idea and I will design a character for it. Other times, like this, I will cerate the character first and then decide who and what they are afterward.
The original drawing is around 11 inches tall and 9 inches wide.

I suppose I like girls with sword too. I'm not sure I got the proportions of her body right on this one but folks seem to like it. The funnest part to draw was the hair.

i dunno if the proportions are realistic - but they look fine to me ;) I can imagine your hairy worries...it is a very difficult thing to get them right & dynamic

She looks beautiful! I was imagining what one of my two elf characters would look like and she looks exactly like how I thought Kanan would look like. Can I borrow this for the title page of one of my chapters for my story 'Imaginary Friends'? I'll give you credit for it!

Read the story, and let that convince you. The link to chapter one is on my signiture.

i have to admit it i am in love with your work all of it this one caught my eye just for the fact that she look EXACTLY like a barbarian scout (which is a rogue with the ability to rage) i mean down to the duel wielding long sword and short sword, the long flowing hair, and even the fierce eyes. ive tried countless times to scetch her but when i say this ... it just... idk clicked alond with your sketch of the female dwarf im absolutly awestuck by your talents and pretty envious as well. also i may have a character idea you might be interested in from one of the many dnd campaigns ive been in if you care to hear it either way again amazing work :meow:

^_^ your very welcome!

:meow: as for the character:
name: etrius
hair: gray/silver short military style
armor: full w/ amulet
weapon: sword
eyes: brown

hes a cleric of saint cuthbert (the god of retrobution)
hes pretty egotistically but it suits him he feels strongly against theft and petty crime unless its for a higher cause (kinda like robin hood) but he would never do it him self
hes not a noble but has enough money to keep him well equipt

he was born a farmer but well the call of cuthbert was heard he became a cleric and moved to a monastary
after a good few years he left to follow his own path along the was he found a travaling group (a rough dwarf that acts as if she hates his guts and visa versa (and trys to hide her thefts from him) and a young boy wanting to make a name) their mission to defeat an undead army that has ridden in the area with a noble cause he decided to join the group (that and he thinks them incompatent)

he loves to rant about laws and the followings of cuthbert hes ecessively sarcastic and acts as if the ppl around him are helpless when it comes to more important things and loves to prove that he doesnt need anyone but he is very kind hearted and has a humerous side exspecially when it comes to the dwarf .

ive attempted to sketch him numerous times and fail miserably lol but again i fail majorly in comparison to your tallents :meow:

so what do you think?

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. :spank:
Love the name Etrius.
I could never play a cleric of Saint Cuthbert. All those pesky laws. But its interesting that you have given him a humorous kindhearted site. I always think of clerics of this order as kind of hard headed. I hope your having fun with him.
:petting: Keep at it. I'm sure you will figure out how to sketch you character. You have now idea how I struggle to get my drawings to come out right. :peace:

Have a bird?
I was feeling particularly insane today. I announced to everyone at work I felt so "Eastery" that I had laid and egg. It was green and pink and when it hatched a tiny Evil Kenevil zoomed out, ramped up over my bed, and jumped out the window. "Dear lord!" I exclaimed "I have given birth to Evil!" No one found it the least bit funny and all were unsettled by the whole horrible event.

You've got some excellent work throughout your gallery, with great character designs. Being a writer and old-time RPer, I also appreciate that many of them have complex back-stories to accompany them. Do you ever do any kind of professional work or is it primarily just a hobby for you?

Ah, these days it's just a hobby. A hobby I can never seem to find time for! I wish I had a greater professional portfolio to share. I just did a some freelance work for pen and pencil role-playing game companies back in the early 2000's. It got published in a couple of books and I have one comic book cover to my name. I keep turning down offers to work for rpg stuff but most folks just want me to work for free and I can't do that.

Doing some free stuff for friends (like char pics) is all well and good but, yeah, never work for free. It's called work for a reason, after all. ;) Hard to support yourself if you do everything as freebies.
